A competency-based accreditation process is a critical component of the training course and must be completed for official recognition of proficiency in program delivery. Accreditation days are scheduled 2 to 3 months after the initial training has been completed. Attendance at an accreditation day also provides professionals with a unique opportunity to receive expert feedback at a personalised level on core competencies of program delivery. Specific details of accreditation requirements are provided during each Triple P training course.
In preparation for accreditation, practitioners are encouraged to begin implementation of Triple P interventions with families and/or practise the specific competencies targeted for accreditation either individually or with peers.
An accreditation day is available for each level of Triple P provider training. On these days practitioners have the opportunity to demonstrate the targeted consultation skills and to receive coaching and feedback to assist them to attain competence in these skills. It is envisaged that in most instances, participants will successfully demonstrate proficiency in accreditation competencies by the end of the day.
